My Mom has a high resting heart rate. Dr say its just a part of COPD? I worry. She has also had swelling in feet and legs. Her heart rate has gotten up to 170!! Trying to understand if we need to push for a cardiologist appt. She has had test but not a stress test.

Yes, you need a cardiologist. At 140 in the hospital they did echos and EKGs. 170 is very high. It may be part of COPD, but swelling if a symptom of congestive heart failure.
