Hi
Has anyone tried this new inhaler (Dulera) It was just approved last month. My Dr would like me to try it to see if it works better for me than Advair. I was hoping someone would have some feedback. It is Formoterol and Mometasone. When I look it up on the internet it only says asthma, not copd or emphysema.
Thanks

The only thing I read about COPD was from reuters ..... (Thu Jun 24, 2010 11:57am EDT)
"The drug is also being developed as a treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease"

Most drugs are tested for ASthma first except Spiriva as it is easier to compare attacks since asthma is more something that comes and goes, unlike COPD which is actually damage to lungs. I had not heard of this at all. Advair was only recently approved for COPD even though they have been prescribed it for a long time. All the ads were about ASthma for Advair and then suddenly Symbicort came out and started with the COPD ads and pretty soon there was Advair. I don't know how this would differ from Symbicort which has Formeterol(sp) and a steroid. I can see how it might differ from Advair.
