Hi all again, I got my results. I don't think they are too bad but I feel much better since I have been taking the Advair 100/50. Chest tightness went away yesterday. I noticed that you all were saying something about what your numbers should be compared to. I don't know what you mean. I'm just gonna post my results and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Parameter Best Trial1 Trial4 Trial5 Pred %Pred
FVC L 2.89 2.89 2.76 2.69 3.47 83
FEV1 L 2.35 2.35 2.25 2.21 2.74 86
FEV1/FVC% 81.4 81.4 81.6 82.1 79.7 102
PEF L/MIN 305.5 305.5 350.4 342.6 397.8 77
FEF25-75 L/S 2.58 2.58 2.46 2.45 2.67 97
FET 6.43 6.43 6.34 6.11 - -

Then under says At copd risk

Those look like Spirometry numbers. 86% is how much lung function you have.
Your numbers are almost of that of a healthy person. A full PFT will also show if you have asthma. Maybe that is all you have. It is good that the Advair is working, so keep doing it.
Get on a good diet and exercise program and you will feel like a million bucks.
Really....

Thx so much Casey :) I really feel that it's like asthma as I feel like I'm not getting enough air and chest is tight and hurts. He said keep with the Advair. But he didn't give me a rescue inhaler or anything. Had chest X ray and everything looked fine. I wonder how fast your lungs go down from all the smoking I did. Guess I will find out. Will keep reading posts and posting. Well wishes to you :) Steph

I also have asthma and that is what I feel like when my asthma kicks up. I usually will end up in ER with a two to four hour breathing treatment and prednisone. They will them send me home with a script of prednisone for a short burst. Also, if it is bad enough I have had a steroid shot.
Maybe a trip to the ER is in order. Also, yes, if it is asthma you should have a rescue inhaler also.

They copd is hard to see in a chest x-ray, or so I've read.
