as my copd progresses, my sinus drainage is getting progressively worse. Sometimes it just rolls out like a river. when it is at it's worse I have difficulty breathing and can even lead to sob. I flush with a nasal soultion, take montelukast, it is embarassing, I will not leave the house when it happens. any suggestions?

I dont know how you sinus rinse but this is the way I do it now ( I used to just use a Nettie Pot and regular sinus rinse powder). I bought a Sinu Plus Elite. Amazon carries them. I went to an ENT doctor and he rxd me Muprocin. I mix the sinus rinse and 2 cups of distilled water-dont use tap water-and warm it in a microwave for 60 seconds. Then I have a 3 cup Tupperware bowl I which I put some Muprocin about the size of two peas then, I pour about half the warmed water In the Tupperware ( I use a plastic pitcher in the microwave ) put the lid on and shake pretty hard for a minute or so then pour back into my pitcher then pour it into the Sinu Plus machine. I like the machine for a couple of reasons: 1 it holds 2 cups of liquid twice what most Nettie Pots and 2 if you turn it up it flows a lot faster than a Nettie Pot and seems to clear out more mucus. The Muprocin is a topical antibiotic but works great once emulsified Into the rinse solution. I have reduced my sinus drainage and have not had a sinus infection since I started this procedure and that has been a year. I used to get a sinus infection every 3 months.might see what your Doctor thinks. This is the first ENT I have had that recommended this and I am sure glad. Hope this helps

The Journey Continues.
