| I recently looked at a Fitbit alternative until they shared this info:
Thanks for your interest in Biostrap!
Currently, accuracy (RMS error) for HR is within +/- 4 bpm and HRV is within +/-15ms for HRV.
Our blood oxygen saturation estimation is accurate to 4-5%. For low oxygen saturation cases, such as in hypoxia (less than 90%), our accuracy can be lower than this.
How to calculate SpO2 - http://biostrap.link/spo2
We calculate active calories during workouts, and accuracy is something we are working to improve but it will always be an estimate. In order to get the best estimate, we need to understand the amount of O2 consumed by the person which is not possible with our device. So we estimate it based on the personís height, weight, sex, and get the MET of the activity. All activity trackers are estimating and we are as accurate as possible given the information we have.
So you could be showing 86% on a Pulse Ox, but this device would show 92%, a big issue.
