I agree strongly. I found out early on that hydration can make a very noticeable difference in my COPD symptoms over the past 16 years. Paying attention to my water intake has seemed to facilitate clearing mucous.

Any truth in that cold water with or without ice hampers breathing?

I didn't research that geez (do you have a name?) but I know if it's too cold it can cause bronchospasms which would not be good. Now, what "too cold" is, I don't know.

Generally, I drink room-temp water because I have had some indication that very cold ice water might slightly hamper breathing, but I have never encountered anything serious from it.

I know the one time I drank really cold water for some reason and it felt like my throat immediately closed up! Scared the beejeebers out of me. After a bit, it loosened and then got back to normal. My brothere told me, afterwards, I should have immediately had a few sips of warm water to calm it back down.
