I think I have read that but don't remember where. It might be that the cold restricts the bronchial tubes like cold air does when you are outside. I have stopped using ice in my water because I found that it bloats me and seems to affect my digestion. Also, when I am out I am never sure how clean the ice machine is but mainly it is the stomach thing with me.

I don't get bloated but it seems to cause chest pain and tightness. But I sure like ice water as opposed to regular tap water. I 've been trying not using ice, just filing a mug with water put it in the refrig and letting it get cold. I drink a from 66-96oz a day of water, not counting mile or juices.

That seems like an excessive amount of water to me especially since you are not counting other liquids. You can get too much water though it is rare but kidneys do need to rest.
