Off topic post removed - member suspended - she is in India, no PA and is promoting Indian native medicine, not asking questions.

First this is a discussion on our chat room. Second, your IP comes back as India, not Gettysburg. Third, your are promoting a form of traditional medicine in India. Forth, you are claiming to be a doctor.

The chat room can use some more support. I do check in as often as I can during the day, but the room is slow usually. The evening chats are better attended/ The 11:30 PM chat is usually well attended and very active. Pick a day reply and I will try to join so you aren't alone. The chatters are mostly COPD diagnosed and care givers so the help and support you get comes from people who know what it is like to live with this and how different the symptoms are from person to persn. Get honest answers from those that deal daily on what works for them, exercise, supplements, diet, and etc... We are not doctors and you should seek medical advice before trying anything. Or just stop in we might be telling hose jokes.

FEV1 67, O2 2 LM / 3LM to exercise etc... also had heart attack N double bypass, enlarged lungs and Hiatle Hernia.

To post a new subject/question (thread)

Decide what area your question should be in. COPD stuff or oxygen etc.
In the middle of the top of the page is a little purple folder with "new Topic" on it.
Click on it.
In the subject box put in a 2-3 word description of your question....e.g. can I shower with oxygen.
Then you can TAB to add more information to the bigger white box under neath.
Then click on "post new topic".

To post on an existing thread.. go to the bottom of the page under the "quick reply" on the dark blue line...add your comment and click on "submit reply".

Hope I remembered correctly.

For those of you with both heart and lung issues - which do you feel like you deal with the most? My husband has has 7 heart attacks and now has decent blood flow except to the bottom areas of the heart where all the little blood cell keep collapsimg. But in the summers the most he struggles with COPD - last measured at a moderate FEV1 of 46 about 3 yrs ago. He says the COPD really "kicks his butt" but he'll fight and fight it before he'd use his nebulizer. I've never had heart problems but have much worse COPD (FEV1-23%) and try to give him advise. His pulmonologist had not even showed him how to purse lip breathing and he was amazed at what a difference it made

COPD (FEV1 46% last PFT a year ago)and a heart attack. Also an aortic aneurysm, lung cancer and metastatic prostate cancer. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren 2, 4 and 7. I don't dwell on all my "problems". I'm grateful for any day I wake up.
And for good measure, I'm 68 and still work 50-60 (or more) hours per week as a systems engineer for a Fortune 500 company. Life's only as good (or bad) as you make it.

I have copd, In Dec they said I had a heart attack and CHF, they need to show me some proof on a couple of things, anyhow after being sedated found out I have an Aorta Abdomen Anuerysym sp That was in Dec. Did not find out till May . Went to vascular surgeon yesterday and found out have one in my leg also. They will send a scan of the AAA its below the kidney and then try and get fitted with a stent using low or non invasive surgery (so It is the AAA that concerns me most right now.)

What happened to bring this on in the.....
first place was my husband brought home a bug , I got it , my doctor was out of the country they changed my appointment date, I did not have enough sense to get another doctor , finally got in to see my doctor by that time I had very little oxygen left. and then spent from Dec 21 to Feb2 in 2 hospitals and a nursing home. Had I gone to a doctor I might not have gotten so bad. Still think Levaquin had a 50/50 chance of giving me the AAA
