The length of time waiting for a transplant depends on the center you're using. In some, the wait is quite short; but I know people who waited over two years for theirs. In addition, I would think that because of C-19 the number of organs suitable for donation have reduced, simply because there's a lot less traffic and fewer chances that people with healthy lungs and other organs will die in circumstances suitable for TX. I'd talk with the TX people in your center about how things have slowed down for them; that should give you good information.

Well folks-several posts and several miles later I am on my second pair of Danners ( hiking boots ) I am still going strong! Thanks to my Donor and Donor family. Thanks to all of you for your continuing support over the past years before and after my Double Lung Transplant. It has been four wonderful years. Once again if I may help anyone get started for evaluation, I would be more than proud to help you. It IS a life changer. Hope to do a small portion of the Pacific Crest Trail next year. Best wishes and do consider a transplant-it is worth it.
